How to Set Up YubiKey for Multi-Factor Authentication

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your College account by requiring a second verification step beyond your password. This guide walks you through setting up a YubiKey as an MFA method.

You'll need a YubiKey device in one of the following formats:

Step-by-Step Setup Instructions

  1. Visit: https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info.
  2. Sign in using your TSC credentials.
  3. Select Add sign-in method.
  4. Select Security key.
  5. To identify your security key type, select USB device.
  6. Insert your YubiKey into a USB port on your computer and click Next.
  7. Create a PIN for your YubiKey and click OK.
  8. When prompted, touch the Y button on your YubiKey.
  9. Enter a name for your YubiKey and click Next.
  10. Click Done.
  11. After setup, call TSC’s IT Help Desk at (850) 201-8545 to ensure that you will be able to continue to sign in without setting up an additional authentication method.
