Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enhances the security of your College account by requiring an additional verification step beyond your password. This Knowledge Base article provides step-by-step guidance on setting up a YubiKey for MFA, adding an extra layer of protection to your College account.
Prerequisites:
Yubico - Yubikey Security Key is offered in two different form factors, USB-A and USB-C and may be purchased from Amazon as follows:
- USB-A
- Yubico - Security Key NFC - Black - Two-Factor authentication (2FA) Security Key, Connect via USB-A or NFC, FIDO U2F/FIDO2 Certified https://a.co/d/cBJYb4r
- USB-C

Setting up Yubikey for Multi-Factor Authentication
1. On your device, open a browser and go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and sign-in with your TSC credentials.
2. In Security Info click on Add Sign-in Method
3. Click the Choose a method Drop down box, select Security Key.
4. With Security Key selected, click Add
5. Click USB device.
6. Click Next.
7. Click Turn on.
8. DO NOT scan the QR Code in the pop-up window. In the lower-left corner of the pop-up window, click Use a different device.
9. Click Windows Hello or external security key.
10. Click OK.
11. Click OK.
12. Create a pin number and click OK.
13. Click OK.
14. Touch the Y on your Yubikey.
15. Provide a name for your Yubikey, then click Next.
16. You are now finished setting up your Youbikey. Click Done.
