Email encryption is the process of disguising the content of your email message to protect it from being read by unwanted parties. Sensitive information such as social security numbers, passwords, login credentials, and bank account numbers are vulnerable when sent via email.
How to encrypt an email
1. Start by composing an email as normal, then click Options in the menu bar

2. Click the brown lock icon and select Encrypt

**Note: Attachments may not be encrypted

3. Your recipient will receive an email with a .html attachment and instructions on how to open the email.

4. Recipients within TSC will be able to view the message like normal. Recipients outside of TSC will have to sign in with their email credentials or request a one-time passcode to view the message.

5. If they request a passcode, an additional email with the passcode will be sent to their email address.

6. Once the recipient's information has been authenticated, the message will display in a new browser window.

**Note: For the recipient to reply securely to the message, they must reply from the new window where the message opened.
