How to connect to GlobalProtect VPN

How to Connect to VPN with PaloAlto GlobalProtect (First-Time Setup)

Note: These steps are for first-time setup only. If the GlobalProtect client is not installed on your device, contact the IT Helpdesk at +1 (850) 201-8545.

Setup Instructions

  1. Access System Tray
    Locate the small upward arrow (^) on the bottom-right corner of your Windows taskbar and click it to reveal hidden icons.
  2. Launch GlobalProtect
    Find and select the GlobalProtect icon — it looks like a grey globe.
  3. Start Configuration
    When the GlobalProtect window opens, click Get Started.
  4. Enter VPN Address
    In the field labeled Domain or IP, type:
    vpn.tsc.fl.edu
    Then click Connect.
  5. Connection Process
    Wait for GlobalProtect to initiate the connection.
  6. Login Credentials
    Enter your TSC email address and password when prompted.
  7. Authentication
    Complete any additional authentication steps required (e.g., multi-factor authentication).
  8. Open GlobalProtect Automatically
    When prompted, check the box to always open GlobalProtect and click Open.

Important: If you skip this checkbox, you’ll be prompted every time you connect.

  1. Connected
    Once authenticated, you’ll be connected to the VPN and can access secure resources.

Disconnecting from VPN

  1. Open GlobalProtect Again
    Launch the GlobalProtect client as before.
  2. Access Menu
    Click the menu icon in the top-right corner of the GlobalProtect window.
  3. Disconnect
    Select Disconnect to end your VPN session.
